as quoted by ESPN.com......
"It was another adventurous day in the field for Ramirez, one night after he lingered too long inside the Green Monster scoreboard during a break and almost missed a pitch. Ramirez was late getting onto the field at the start of the game -- tripping on the dugout step, then dropping his glove, when he finally went to join his teammates in the field.
In the first, the left fielder called off shortstop Edgar Renteria on Crawford's popup but didn't get to the ball, and it fell in for a single. Crawford scored on Jorge Cantu's single to give the Devil Rays a 1-0 lead.
Boston tied it in the bottom half when David Ortiz doubled and scored, and Ramirez homered in the fourth to give Boston a 2-1 lead."
yes, it was a quintessential manny night and sums up why he is my favorite bosox player.
The night started off on the right foot with yours truly getting involved in an altercation with some anti-war protestors that my brutha would be proud of. Went something like this.....
Wingnut: Bush is a terrorist, blah blah, help us end the war, blah blah (note that i never really process this stuff, but it was something to that affect)
Kevin Kenyan:
Wingnut: sure, ignore us, you'll be sorry when you get drafted by the Bush Regime and get your head blown off.
Kevin Kenyan: (experiencing sudden spasms of the middle finger) Get the f**k to canada you pothead wastes of life
Wingnut:
see it's one thing to be protesting, it's another thing to stop me in my tracks and harass me, in which case you are entitled to my honest opinon of what you're doing, but now that thats over with.......
Twas a good game, finally got myself back into winning form. Had some prime seats behind the sox dugout which worked out pretty well. Good things about this game:
2 out production
Manny swinging the bat well against a lefty
Schilling having his best appearance since coming back
just friggin being there
seriously there's something about the fenway atmosphere that just makes me jump up and down inside my shoes when i get there. I think i'm truly addicted. Thank god my dad spots the cost of some of these games or my addiction would be a hell of a lot more harmful. All in all a good night at the ballpark.......and war protestors can suck my gallbladder
Play ballllllllllll
I just wanna play
Whatever the season
Whatever the reason
I love that game
